NIGERIA IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - Staunch Bilateral Relations at work



*Eminent Nigerians set to storm Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago to attend the NIGERIA IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 2023 from 18th- 26th July 2023, and also the Trinidad and Tobago annual Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) 2023* 

… as bilateral relations between Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean continue.

It was reported earlier that ILARA, EPE Lagos State is set on Friday, 14th July 2023 to make history by the signing of an MOU promoting bilateral relations with Trinidad and Tobago, during the traditional  Conferment Ceremony of an  Honorary Chieftaincy Title on the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago to Nigeria, by the Alara of Ilara Kingdom Epe, Lagos State. This is an event geared towards rejuvenating the union between Nigeria, West Africa, and Africa (on the one hand) and Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean (on the other hand) - The Africaribbean Movement. 

In furtherance of the above reported event, the stage is now set for the hosting of the NIGERIA IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO (18th July to 26th July 2023), which will feature the hosting of the Trade and Investment Convention (TIC 2023), from July 20th -22nd 2023 at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Trinidad and Tobago.

The organisers of TIC 2023, the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) will recognize and celebrate the innovation of manufacturers, service providers, consultants and investors alike, to revolutionize business, with the theme of TIC 2023 being, “Innovation: Revolutionizing Business”.

For 3 days, manufacturers, service providers, consultants, distributors, large, medium and micro enterprises and entrepreneurs from over 35 countries of the world will converge under one umbrella to engage in various trade, commerce and business interactions and activities.

The event will also converge to network with industry leaders, for introduction and re-introduction to products and services, for access to a larger local and regional market, and to engage in business-to-business meetings and participate in Webinars/Seminars. 

According to the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago to Nigeria, His  Excellency, Mr. Wendell De Landro, the union aims at promoting unity, business engagement opportunities and networking between the two countries and Africans at large.  

"We have invited business delegates from the Nigeria-Trinidad and Tobago Trade & Commerce Cultural Tourism & Creative Industries Relations Initiative (NTCRI), including Nigerians In Business to participate in TIC 2023, with the aim of creating a forum for Nigerians in Business to be able to promote their products, services and country, and engage in meetings with potential business partners, at this international business-networking event. This opportunity can also be used to book B2B strategic business  meetings",  Wendell De Landro said.

Hon. Consul (Desig.) to Trinidad and Tobago in Lagos, Rotimi Vaughan  also stated that Exhibitors from Nigeria will also be able to exhibit their products, under the Nigerian TIC 2023 Booth No. 205, already secured by NTCRI and designated as the NIGERIA 🇳🇬IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 🇹🇹 - TIC 2023: AFRICARIBBEAN CONNECT BOOTH.

As part of collaborations from reputable Nigerian companies, the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace Airline, Chief (Dr) Barrister Allen Onyema, CON, has keyed into playing key roles in lending a hand in ensuring the strategic promotions of bilateral relations in this regard.

Air Peace is set to embark on their maiden official direct flight from Nigeria to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean. 

As the official Airline for the NIGERIA IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - TIC 2023, Air Peace is set to convey eminent dignitaries to Port of Spain for the programme. 

Accordingly, key beneficiaries of the landmark historic maiden flights are Nigerians in Business delegates to participate in the trade, business and culture promotions event in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago 18th-26th July 2023.

Air Peace Airline has indeed taken the lead in opening borders and creating windows of opportunities, also aimed at generating the strengthening of strong bilateral relations in trade, culture, sports, arts, diplomacy etc. in building strong Africaribbean foundation.

More so, prominent Royal personalities to attend the event in Trinidad are HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), Alara of Ilara Kingdom Epe and Erelu Kuti IV of Lagos, HRH Dr. (Chev.) Abiola Dosumu.

Nigerian Eminent delegates are also billed to pay a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Keith Rowley.

Findings added that NIGERIA IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 2023 convention will also feature AFRICARIBBEAN AWARD NIGHT, where Nigerians and other nationalities will be recognised for diverse impactful roles they have played in promoting strong relations between Nigeria, Africa and Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean.

Top on the list of of Awardees is Nigeria's former Head of State and President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, who was the first Nigerian as Nigeria's Head of State in 1977 to bring into Nigeria, the Trinidadian Steelpan in promoting cultural relations between both countries.

Nevertheless, delegates are looking forward to a great attendance and a good representation of our great country NIGERIA at the programme. Dr. Bertran Uzodinma, a prominent estate developer and a VIP delegate, a keen promoter of AFRICARIBBEAN relations has this to say "We are set as astute Nigerians in Business to make a strong statement in Port of Spain on trade and commerce and explore windows of opportunities for new partnerships".

Goldie Anuli, a creative arts delegate stated: "I am particularly excited about this event, as we are set to further showcase Nigeria's leading and awesome stuff in the creative industries", she concluded.
