Late Alhaji Ganiu Akanni


In the late hours of Thursday 10th of November, 2020 a football veteran was declared dead. 

This painful exit of Alhaji Ganiu Akanni gripped many ex-footballers, colleagues, friends and family members.

Alhaji Ganiu Akanni was the senior brother of Alhaji Waidi Akanni, who at this moment is the most affected due to their close ties and commitment to the welfare of ex and present sport persons.

Alhaji Ganiu Akanni had since been buried on Friday 11th of November, 2022 according to Islamic rites. 

May his soul rest peacefully in Aljanat Fridaus. Ameen.

May the Almighty gives everyone the strength to bear this untimely loss.
